Great Lakes Water Authority – CS-1526 Suburban Sewage Billing Meter and GDRSS Meter Maintenance

PCI completed a three (3) sewer maintenance contract with Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) under CS-1526 contract, “Suburban Sewage Billing Meter and GDRSS Meter Maintenance.” The project duration was from March 2013 to March 2016. PCI provided maintenance and calibration for thirty-five (35) billing sewer meters and nine (9) Combine Sewage Outfalls facilities. The scope of work included:
1. Calibration, Routine Maintenance, and Repairs
a. Suburban Billing Meters
b. System/Flow Balance Meters
c. Station/CSO Basin Meters
2. 24/7 Hotline – Emergency response
3. Urgent Repairs
4. Instrument installations, loop checks, and troubleshooting
5. Coordination with GDRSS
6. Confined Space Entry, PPE

Additional work scope also included installation, repairs, and troubleshooting of metering equipment. PCI was also involved in numerous tasks that involved the installation of new flow transmitters, level transmitters and ISCO samplers throughout GLWA’s sewer system. We maintained the remote PLC’s at each metering location which communicates back to GLWA’s SCADA System to ensure that all sites are communicating with minimum downtime. Manufacturers equipment included the following:
1. Rosemount, ABB, Endress + Hauser, Siemens, ISCO Teledyne, Accusonic and HACH flow meters
2. Milltronics HydroRanger, Sparling, Pulsar level transmitters
3. Allen Bradley PLCs, Schneider Electric (SCADAPack) PLCs
4. RACO, Antx, Ominisite cellular alarm dialers
5. West, ABB, West, Yokogawa and Fischer-Porter chart recorders
6. Hach and ISCO samplers
